Tadeusz Lubicz Rybkowski was a Polish painter and illustrator born in Kielce, Poland in 1848 and died in Lviv, Ukraine in 1926. He studied painting in Krakow and Vienna, and later moved to Lviv where he became a teacher of drawing. He is known for his paintings of rural scenes, hunting, and everyday life of Hucul people. He also illustrated books and worked on wall paintings. In 1888, he married Jadwiga Nowolecka.
