Edwin Howlan

Edwin Howland Blashfield was an American painter and muralist, best known for his work on the dome of the Library of Congress Main Reading Room in Washington, DC. He was born in New York, United States in 1848 and passed away in 1936. Blashfield was trained in Paris and became a prominent figure in the American mural movement. His works are characterized by their historical and allegorical themes.
