Celis Pérez

Early Life and Career

Celis Pérez, an Argentine artist, was born in San Telmo, Argentina in 1939. He is widely recognized for his abstract art, which has been exhibited globally. Pérez's artistic journey began with correspondence classes, and he later enrolled at the Belgrano School of Fine Arts in 1954.

Artistic Style and Influences

Pérez's work was influenced by Hungarian artist Victor Vasarely, whom he discovered during a 1957 retrospective at the National Fine Arts Museum. This exposure led to his exploration of geometric art, resulting in his first mural, Fuerza América, in 1962.
