Siegfried Anzinger

Siegfried Anzinger was born on February 25, 1953, in Weyer, Austria. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna under Professor Melcher from 1971 to 1977. Anzinger's practice is borne out of a desire to question the possibilities of his medium. In this persistent investigation, Anzinger constantly makes and re-makes his compositions in an approach that is prolific and intense. Anzinger is mainly associated with the Junge Wilde/Neue Wilde movement and is known for his expressive paintings in bright, intense colors and quick, broad brushstrokes. He has exhibited his work in numerous solo and group exhibitions in galleries and museums around the world.
