Prof. Valentin Starchev

Valentin Starchev is a Bulgarian sculptor born in 1935 in Stara Zagora. He graduated from the National Academy of Art, Sofia, in the studio of Prof. Marko Markov. He works in many fields of Fine Arts but is mostly known for his monumental sculpture. Starchev has been awarded a number of honourable state distinctions and prizes and has an extensive record of art shows in Bulgaria and abroad. His works can be found at the National Art Gallery in Sofia, the Middelheim Museum in Antwerpen, Belgium, Peter Ludwig Museum in Aachen, Germany, the Hugo Voeten collection in Belgium, the Art Dialogue Foundation in France.
